Beautiful Eggs: My chickens are laying a bounty of eggs now. I love the many colored eggs, deep brown, olive green, blue, rosey brown, tan, aqua blue. So many shades of colors I almost hate to open them. I give them to neighbors and family and the local food bank and still have plenty for me.

More deer on the ranch

This picture was taken by someone else but said I could share. These are deer on the Terlingua Ranch. When I was there last April I drove the ranch road after dark. There were so many deer on the road that I had to drive very carefully.

Snow Prince showing off his growing feathers. The other morning I looked out my living room window and Snow and Luchia were beak to beak, staying that way for seemingly minutes. A kiss? Don't know about peacock incest but I'm thinking there is a courtship behavior starting. Snow is getting a little agressive with his brother Lil Carlos, a new behavior. Where I got Luchia they had some beautiful peacocks and peahens with white splotches on them. Will I have chicks this year?

Someone wrote and asked about my grandson Ben, who I used to include in my travel journals. He traveled with me through many states one summer. I have had different adventures with different grandsons. This was taken at my sons house, used to my house in California. My son put on new siding and a huge deck and of course he had to have an outstanding barbeque. Really beautiful there now out on the deck. This was around Thanksgiving and Ben barbequed dinner for me. Tri tip and hot sausages. That's his friend Trevor, my adopted grandson facing the camera.

In a newspaper article about the Burro Ladies funeral it was mentioned that she probably saw more sunsets and sunrises than any of us. Good to appreciate these moments. Burro Ladies Funeral
