Thoughts on life and my everyday life.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.comBlogger490125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-74555609098528490362013-03-07T12:05:00.000-08:002013-03-07T12:05:33.469-08:00Update of events.

<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">I can't believe it's been over a year and a half since I have posted. My camera went down, my computer went down and I was busy gardening.

I had an abundant garden and ate almost exclusively from it throughout the Spring and Summer. By the end of Summer the heat had worn me down but I gathered pumpkins, tomatoes, and winter squashes to use throughout the winter. I had many turns with weeds and finally by the end of the season crab grass had taken hold in much of the garden. I am now cleaning out the crab crass row by row and will begin planting again this month. I hope to add more mulch. I have chickens that lay plenty of eggs for me and I continue to give them to neighbors, food banks and family. My son brought me a cat and before I could get her spayed she had 4 kittens. I now have 5 full grown cats that are indoor, outdoor cats and are doing a wonderful job of making the critters, especially the antelope squirrels leave me some fruit and nuts. I had an abundant crop of pistachios this year.

My faithful companion, my dog Manna died this summer and is in a grave behind one of the trees. She had been with me for 12 + years and I don't know how old she was when I rescued her. She got one last swim in Burro Creek pond before she died. That was a happy day for her and I like remembering it.

My son went to California to finish raising his youngest son through highschool so I am again on my own and getting older. Not as easy for me anymore at close to 75.

The fruit and nut trees are coming out of a harsh cold this winter. The Pluets, Apricots, and Almonds are now blooming and one Apple. Many of the other trees are beginning to bud.

I sold my goats this winter after I struggled through hand feeding one billy and the other billy the mother accepted. I realized that many of my injuries were goat related. A broken ankle, a twisted knee, an attack by invading dogs that cracked my rib.

Last summer I was able to plant more native trees and many of them are growing and filling in the gaps between the fruit and nut trees. I now want to plant in bunches, with a variety of the permaculture plant guilds. I hope to expand the food forest from that point. I replaced a Santa Rosa plum that died after a rain at 5 years. I fear the reports of poisoning from arial spraying known as Chemtrails is true as the tree died so suddenly after a heavy rain. The replaced Santa Rosa was planted with sweet potatoes and peanuts and I hope to add alflafa for mulch.

I now have a refurbished computer my son sent me and I hope to get a camera set up soon too so I can post pictures. Life goes on.

Since most of the tv stations have advertising on at night I went over to Bloomburg Tv. The show was about how some of the biggest business men on Wall Street got so rich. One of the Wall Street elite got his start by lending money to mom and pop businesses, then when they got in trouble he took them over and added them to conglomerates. Squeeze and swallow.

Then I flipped over to a show that was about how anaconda's are taking over some Florida neighborhoods and eating family pets. These were pet snakes that people bought when they were small. When they got too big for people to manage they would take them out to the wet lands and let them loose. Anaconda's have two defenses, several rows of teeth in their mouth that are like fishooks and the ability to squeeze their prey to death. These snakes are growing very large and procreating.

It struck me how similar the situation was with the Wall Street business man who was so very wealthy and the anaconda. Get your hooks in, squeeze to death and swallow them whole. Anaconda's if large enough can swallow an allegator or a man. In the case of anaconda's new laws have been made against people dumping them as they are seen as a hazard to the well being to man. There is also a new program to capture and destroy. It's too bad that the predatory businessmen are not treated with the same precaution and laws.

I keep going back to a scripture in the bible that stated the ideal would be that everyman should sit under his own vine and fig tree. Anaconda businessmen make slaves of others while they greedily grab far more than they need to survive or be comfortable. They compete with each other for the highest position in the elite society while squeezing the life out of their fellow man.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-24918987329340028492011-01-28T10:50:00.000-08:002011-01-28T10:50:16.216-08:00Georgia Man Fined $5000 for Growing Too Many VegetablesAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-91564393287795733882011-01-28T10:33:00.000-08:002011-01-28T10:33:17.129-08:00Cures to the World - Part 1 - EconomyAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-7109137918073959712011-01-21T06:31:00.000-08:002011-01-21T06:31:13.266-08:00Go Figure - What Would It Cost to Save the World?Seems like we chose misery and poverty over wholesome goodness. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-51819421631216616102011-01-09T03:28:00.000-08:002011-01-09T03:28:18.932-08:00Different way of lifeI turned my ankle day after Christmas so I have to stay off my ankle quit a bit. Yesterday, I watched a show on PBS. It was part of the Yan Can Cook series. He was traveling to China and it was very insightful to see how people lived in this Chinese village. The farmers markets, most everything was fresh and grown locally. Early in the morning the elderly and others gathered in a central place and exercised together, the younger ones then went off to their work and the older ones played challenging board games.

He was invited to a family home and it was a compound where one family had lived for 7 generations. Built in the Chinese style it reminded me of the Mexican compounds where the buildings are built around the inner court yard. There were wings for the older and younger generations and there was a common kitchen where they all ate. They had gardens and their own well and fruit trees that were 300 years old and still producing. The people gathered in the community square to share entertainment, singers and dancers from the community.

There seemed to be a overall respect for each other and life itself, not just a quest for more entertainment and excitement like you see so much of in the American culture. I found it very peaceful.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17070660421065950285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2040694821431805909.post-31476635415209613872011-01-08T10:06:00.000-08:002011-01-08T10:06:04.394-08:00Build Soil Fertility with Rock Powders.
